The sky is Frank Follaco’s speciality: misty, poetic, light, powerful.
He knows how to work with it, whether in a large space or an alcove. But then, during this rainy spring, an idea sprouted. A bit like every time… from a real-life situation. An architect contacted him for a sunset sky. It was for an unusual apartment: a duplex in Paris with high domed ceilings. And why not look further, beyond the clouds? At nightfall, in his house on the outskirts of Paris, he picked up his brushes and imagined a Milky Way. A palette of blues. Stars made of gold glitter.
‘Gold leaf is a noble material that gives luminosity and a precious effect. We have been using it in our creations in a thousand ways for a long time.’
Painting constellations is a new one.
